To help celebrate its 60th Anniversary, Calder Stewart approached us to organise a landmark event at the company headquarters.
In 1955, Calder Stewart comprised two people, a Ford Prefect car, a wooden trailer and £25. It started in Milton, a town south of Dunedin. Over the years, the company that pioneered the use of steel in agricultural buildings has expanded into commercial construction, development and steel production. Today, still based in Milton but with projects all around the country, Calder Stewart is a company with more than 450 staff.
We organised everything from entertainment to catering, crafted invitations, and arranged helicopter tours and guided walk-throughs of the steel factory. Our dining hall theme created a genuine coast-to-coast experience. Peter Williams emceed between speeches before Tim Finn delivered a world-class performance.
Essentially, we built an experience to showcase the company’s identity. The look and feel had to be just right. It gave the Calder Stewart employees an opportunity to get a deeper understanding of the company, feel part of its future, and to be recognised for their hard work.
The event had the twin purpose of celebrating an important milestone and fostering a feeling of working together as one team. It was about being Calder Stewart first, company division second.
We celebrated the years gone by and looked forward to tomorrow. Every Calder Stewart employee walked away from the event knowing where the company has come from, what it stands for and where it’s going.
