Plato’s 3rd Annual Awards Night

Cheers, beers and peers

All year long we work together as one crew but it’s also important to recognise the individuals who have really stood out.

So, in mid-May we celebrated with our third annual Plato Awards Night. This year was extra special as it was also about the great achievements of our clients, something that saw the introduction of a new category – The Smarter Business Outcomes Award. These winners were judged solely on more than just a monetary result, also taking into account the challenges overcome and future prospects of success and partnership with Plato.

Taking out the top spots were Russells Curtains and Blinds and Thrifty Car Rentals New Zealand for their Relo Club campaign.

Russells was a clear winner with a 94% increase in online bookings and a 200% increase in revenue over 12 months not by spending more but by refreshing the brand and changing up the channels through which Russells reached potential customers. We also developed a CRM system for Russells to better manage and track leads and sales internally. You can read more about the Russells story here.

For their success, Russells won a HUGE $10,000 trade marketing voucher courtesy of NZME, to be used on any of the NZME radio or digital channels.

When developing the Relo Club campaign for Thrifty, we were tasked with achieving a 12% increase in bookings of their rental fleet that needed relocating. We delivered TWICE that result with a 24% increase compared to the same period the previous year. We also helped them increase sign ups to Relo Club online by over 50%!

Lana Wigley - Supreme Winner

Internally, the big winner on the night was Lana Wigley, our Studio Manager, taking home the Supreme Award!

Lana is a very deserving winner, a much loved and highly valued member of our team. It’s Lana’s job to manage all the projects coming through, ensuring work is evenly distributed, assigned to the right people for the job and to make sure it happens within a decent timeframe.

She’s an absolute trooper and the cheers when her name was announced were loud and genuine.
